G45’s Little Brother? - The Qosmio F45

Toshiba’s line up of Qosmio desktop replacement laptops have been around for a few years now. The Qosmio F45 may not be as powerful as it’s G45 sibling, but still it’s a HD-DVD laptop worthy of closer inspection.

Toshiba recalls another 10,000 Sony laptop batteries

??s laptop batteries are again becoming a problem. Last year, Toshiba recalled 830,000 notebook batteries and now, they have made a recall for another 10,000 Sony laptop batteries. Three of the machines were reported to go up in smoke between September 2006 and June 2007. No injuries have been reported, but the recall has once again raised the concerns with the Sony notebook batteries.
The new recall caters to two models, the Satellite A100/A105 and the Tecra A7. The details of the part numbers and instructions for the battery exchange have been put up on the Toshiba web site.
Sony in problem:
Last year, nearly 10 million Sony manufactured hazardous batteries were recalled and that reportedly cost Sony approximately $418 million. The Dynabook SS RX1: Toshiba at its best

For some, ‘sky is the limit’. Imagine a notebook that is less than 2 cm thick. Add 64 GB of SSD and you get an unimaginable product from Toshiba – the Dynabook SS RX1 . This one’s got it all – looks, performance, and reliability (I say this because it is Toshiba).
This state-of-the-art notebook runs on a Core 2 Duo processor and boasts of 11 hrs of autonomy (Now that’s a treat). The 12.1 inch display is not something to cheer about, though. And, like every other device, you need to strike a balance and this one is no different. The versions that are listed on the website come equipped with a HDD and not SSD. Toshiba releases full technical details of Qosmio F45 notebooks

Finally, Toshiba has announced features and technical details of its much-anticipated Santa-Rosa based notebooks. As predicted by many experts, Qosmio F45 is ruling the roost. Ideally suited for budget users, they can turn out to be a real asset if you are a medium size business owner.
Three models of Qosmio F45 namely, AV410, AV411, and AV413 rely on affordable X3100 integrated video. Even better, they are equipped with Intel Turbo Memory flash cache as well as the Dolby surround sound. Feature wise, all models include a 1.66GHz Core 2 Duo and 2GB of memory.

In terms of price, the AV410 will cost around $1,299, AV411 will cost around $1,350 and AV413 will cost around $1,310.

Toshiba ??s latest Dynabook Satellite WXW

Toshiba has just introduced its real time gaming laptop Dynabooks Satellite WXW that might fulfill your need if you are looking ahead to get one of its kind.
The latest WXW notebook is based on the Santa Rosa platform with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo T7300, 1GB of RAM that you can upgrade to 4GB according to your desire and a GeForce 8700M GT GPU with 256MB of memory.
It comes with a nice 17.1-inch screen display that offers 1680 x 1050 resolution, graphic card (DX10), HDMI, with PM965 Express chipset, DVD DL burner and more then enough 120GB HDD. It measures 399×288×52mm and weighs only 3.9kg.
The notebook is currently available in Japan and to get it you might have to shell somewhere around $1800.

Toshiba to ship all its future laptops with built-in HD DVD drive

Toshiba, one of the leading supporters of HD DVD format, has now thought of going fully HD DVD with its notebooks. The company has plans to ship all its upcoming laptops with built-in HD DVD drives. A study done by IDC lately has concluded that Toshiba has sold 9.2 million laptops till the date.

Toshiba slides out first 13-inch notebook with Santa Rosa

Sometime back I talked about thinnest-ever 12.1-inch Portege R500 laptop from Toshiba. And now I have Tecra M8 from the same company to talk about. The writ-up at engadget.com reveals that if the earlier released Portege R500 laptop was a little small for you, the latest and greatest Tecra M8 is perfectly suited for you, as it is integrated with a 13.3-inch widescreen display into a slightly heftier package (4.5 pounds).
