Fujitsu unveils new T2010 and N6460 notebooks

??s 2 new 12.1 and 17
??inch notebook models T2010 and N6460.

T2010 measures 12.1 inch and weighs only 2.3 pounds and features Santa Rosa chipset. It sports fingerprint reader, Bluetooth and many other common features. Whereas, 17-inches N6460 comes with some excellent specs and offers full-sized keyboard with a keypad, a 500GB hard drive and an ATI GPU.
No info about price but both the models will hit the shelves sometimes in August.

Intel preps quad-core notebooks

What are they going to install in notebook PCs next? At Intel’s recent Developer Forum conference in Beijing, the company made public to work on quad-core processing to go.
Scheduled to be released in 2008, the quad-core mobile processor has specifically been brought about to aim at high-level gaming and mobile PCs, where users will be allowed to trade battery life for increased performance.
While the majority of demanding users as gamers and those doing video editing at all times yearn for augmented processing power, this chip is not going to be in standard business notebooks for a short time.
Vice president and general manager of Intel’s mobile platform group, Mooly Eden, was quoted as saying, You’ll see it at the high end, but I don’t see it running so fast into the mainstream because I don’t believe there will be enough threaded applications that will justify the [...]

Toshibaand#8217;s laptops to feature AMD processors

Toshiba has announced that it will soon pack AMD processor in about 20 percent of the notebooks it sells in the United States and Europe.
According to the Toshiba spokeswoman Yuko Sugahara the company plans to put AMD chips in its moderate-priced standard models for individual and corporate clients. These AMD equipped notebooks will hit the market this summer and it will also reduce the parts-procurement costs till up to 10 percent.
The results of the research conducted by the IDC firm reveals that the number of Toshiba laptop PCs loaded with AMD chips can be calculated around 1.1 million units a year whereas Toshiba’s overall notebook PC shipments is recorded 9.2 million units in calendar 2006.
However, the value sheet of the Toshiba’s-AMD deal is not yet available but prices of AMD’s notebook-use microprocessors ranges $86 to $263 apiece in a block of 1,000 units.
