Toshiba to ship all its future laptops with built-in HD DVD drive

Toshiba, one of the leading supporters of HD DVD format, has now thought of going fully HD DVD with its notebooks. The company has plans to ship all its upcoming laptops with built-in HD DVD drives. A study done by IDC lately has concluded that Toshiba has sold 9.2 million laptops till the date.

??t do wonders considering the Blu-ray in every PS3 but it will definitely boost the hopes of HD DVD supporters. We can surely expect Sony to make some announcement with its much loved Blu-ray.

Blu-ray disc enabled Sony VAIO Notebook

On May 16th Sony unveiled its latest high tech notebook computer - VAIO AR. This is the first computer that is Blu-ray disc enabled. This comes on the heels of Maxell’s latest announcement of a 200GB Blu-ray disc.
This little wonder is not all brains only, it can be fun too. It’s packed with a host of entertainment features that allow you to watch and record your favorite television shows. Its graphics card will be of real interest to game junkies. It’s got an NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 graphics card featuring 256MB dedicated video memory. This means that you will also be able to enjoy your DVDs and movies on the notebook itself. Of course if you already have one of those big screen TVs with high definition, you can always attach the notebook to the TV to watch your DVDs.
