One Asus Per Child?

Sporting a 7 inch screen, 4GB flash hard drive and a simple Linux operating system even Noddy could handle, Asus’s Eee PC is set to fly off shelves in the coming months. Granted it isn’t as cheap as Negroponte’s XO notebook, but the Eee will be a hit with mom and pops looking for a compact, no frills laptop to check email and surf the web.

Is that a book on the table? Well, it’s a notebook. The picture above is not anything else but, a Asus U3 laptop released in the market. Asus, the laptop manufacturing company has been developing some pretty innovative products lately. The latest in the market is the 13inch ultra portable U3 laptop.
The U3 is well equipped with a Santa Rosa chipset. This laptop is probably one of the fewer models which use the low voltage intel dual core processor. The best part about this baby is it’s packed with a host of technologies. It has a HDMI, GPS, S-video and eSATA. This is the first time I am hearing about a laptop equipped with a GPS. I think that’s a great deal.

MSI intros pure milky-white notebook

Inspired by ASUS pure white color notebook PC W7J.Now, MSI has unveiled its new product at Computex Taipei 2007, called PR200 white notebook PC.
This MSI’s PR200 milky white color notebook is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 processor, 2GB of RAM, 160GB STAT Hard drive.
It also offers 12.1-inch WXGA LCD display, a Multi-DVD burner, WiFi 802.11a/g/n, Bluetooth, a 4-in-1 card reader and a 1.3 mega pixel webcam. Fingerprint reader, HDMI connector and optional TV tuner is also included.

Asus steals the Computex 2007 show with its wooden laptop

The good guys over at Asus have taken a cool approach to the laptop designing by wrapping a notebook prototype in a wood veneer. We have seen a hell lot of designer notebooks earlier dressed in gold and crystals but this is surely a new spin on the idea of laptop designing. The prototype design was honored with the
??Best Choice award for Product Design
at the Computex 2007.
We have no details of the innards of the beautifully crafted laptop but I don
??t think we should bother that much for that. The company hasn
??t commented anything on its market launch but I would simply love to see this wooden laptop on the shelves.
