Dell, Apple, Lenovo, and other global laptop makers have already recalled more than 8 million Sony batteries and now, Gateway is recalling 14,000 batteries used in its notebook PCs after four of its customers complained that their computers were overheated. The battery cells have been made by Samsung Electronics Company Limited while they have been amassed into battery packs by Simplo Technology Company Limited, of Taiwan. Samsung hasn

Apple iMacs to be overhauled around mid-to-late summer

June 19, 2007 2:00 am

Apple now seems to be trying to shift our minds from the hotly awaited iPhone to its iMacs. AppleInsider is reporting that Apple has plans to bring in new systems sometime around mid-to-late summer i.e. end of July into mid-August. The 20-inch and 24-inch iMacs will receive a major overhaul just in time for the educational buying season. But, they haven
??t listed the 17-inch iMac model for a new design so we can assume that the 17-incher might be dropped. Last time, Apple updated the iMac series models with the Core 2 Duo mobile processors in the month of September last year.

Apple blesses MacBooks with faster processors

May 15, 2007 11:28 pm

It
??s no surprise that Apple has now blessed its MacBook notebooks with a speed bash. The notable updates embrace quicker Intel Core 2 Duo processors, 1GB of memory and larger hard drives.
The $1,099 MacBook is now equipped with a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor instead of the one clocked at 1.86GHz. The $1,299 and $1,499 models will now boast 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo processors. Anyhow, the revised machines are still based on the “Napa Refresh” platform. So, the new MacBooks don
??t feature Intel 965 Express chipsets, and Intel GMA X3100 graphics.
But, the Airport Extreme card makes for the 802.11n Wi-Fi support. All the new Apple laptops are available at the Apple Stores.
